AUSTIN– Ed Orgeron and his Bayou Bengals leave the swamps of Baton Rouge to brace themselves to face Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns in what should be a heated evening affair in Austin for Week 2.  It is Geaux time for both these ball clubs that have been on one hell of a three-hour tour to get back to the glory they once knew. Who will taste the bright lights once again because it’s going to come with a big price and are these teams finally ready to pay it with what they have?

#6 LSU

Will the new offense finally be the perfect match for Joe Burrow to get the Bayou Bengals back on the map. It seems that it’s on its way coming off a 55-3 season opener win against Georgia Southern. However, tonight there will be a more difficult wall to break thru being the Texas Longhorns and be a test if the change to a full no-huddle spread formation offense will pay off big once and for all. It is a stray from the Tigers prolific run centered offense but we all know that there are not too many hat tricks these days coming from that backfield to solely rely on that to get back to where they want to be.

#9 TEXAS

The Eyes of Texas will definitely be on not just the Horns but their ball coach Tom Herman. Things are a bit restless in Austin and there is little left on the clock to wait for the return of the Texas Fight to the Longhorns. If anyone knows how to prepare to upset an SEC powerhouse it would be Herman. After all, he was on that Ohio State coaching staff that knocked down everything #BUILTBYBAMA and Nicky Saban. The question is have they have finally been able to merge the talent to produce like one . Sam Ehlinger has definitely made his mark in program history but he is going to have to come up with a big game tonight even with a transitioning but stout LSU team. Can the O-Line for Texas be Texas Tough enough to go head to head with an SEC Defense from the swamps looking to be out of the murky waters once and for all?

I am making this one short and sweet tonight. This battle is  filled with lots of questions from two teams looking to regain relevance and powerhouse status in college football.  It comes down to which team has the hunger to get to what they want and put into motion with their actions.

Quick Keys To The Game

Tonight going to downright gritty in Lone Star State and you can be sure that both these teams are out for the others blood, sweat, and tears. Both the ball clubs come with similar storylines with a different approach they hope that after all the setbacks this will be the start of their comeback. This is what it’s going to take to win the war.

  1. Control the line of scrimmage
  2. Who can stop the run game
  3. Win the head to head position battle

I have to go with the Bayou Bengals over the Longhorns on the road 34-21. Welcome To The Gridiron Jungle Folks!
