Kentucky v. Chattanooga Preview

Kentucky looks to start their season this year 3-0 before entering into the gauntlet of their schedule this Saturday, September 18th, as they face off against the 1-1 Chattanooga Mocs football team. This will be Kentucky’s last lower quality opponent of this season as Chattanooga is a smaller school with not as much talent. Be prepared for a game full of fireworks for the Cats this weekend, but let’s breakdown the opponent, the key position matchup, and what to expect from the team.

Kentucky has been clicking on all cylinders this season. Will Levis has made a statement as the new quarterback leading an air raid offense, Chris Rodriguez Jr. has continued to be a beast, the receiving core is revamped, and the defense has a load of seniors hungry for an SEC title. The team just came off a quality win against Missouri in their first conference game and now has to continue to play great and no overlook the Chattanooga squad. Kentucky heavily favors in the talent sector of the game. There is no spread available yet, but ESPN give the Cats a 98.6% chance to take the win this Saturday.

Chattanooga will be major underdogs in this game. The Mocs play in the Southern conference, which is levels below the powerhouse SEC conference, so the talent they will face with the Cats will be increased by a great amount. Thie quarterback, Drayton Arnold, has passed for 130 yards with one touchdown, two interceptions, and is completing passes at a 42% completion percentage. Reginald Henderson has been the bright spot for the Mocs on offense this season, as he has racked up 89 receiving yards with a touchdown on eight receptions. The star for their defense and the one player to watch for is Brandon Dowdell who leads the team with 10 tackles. Dowdell is the best defensive back on the team and will be the top player for Kentucky to prepare for.

Keeping with Dowdell, the matchup that I have this weekend will be him versus the star receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. Josh Ali will more than likely be out this game due to him being charged with leaving the scene of a crash he was in, leaving the emphasis on Robinson for the Mocs. Dowdell will more than likely be matched with Robinson leaving the fans with a great battle on the field. Robinson ought to have a great game against Dowdell and continue his rise of stardom for the Cats.

Be sure to catch the third game of the season for the Kentucky squad as the game will be this Saturday, starting at 12 PM Eastern Standard Time. I predict that the score will be Kentucky 48, Chattanooga 7. The star on offense will be Wan’Dale Robinson/Will Levis and the star for defense will be Yusuf Corker. Forever and always, GO CATS!
