DAL (1-1)@ NYG (2-0)

It is going to be an interesting Monday evening in the Meadowlands as NFC East nemesis the Dallas Cowboys collide with the New York Giants. The Giants head into this ball game undefeated and are looking to keep the streak alive to 3-0 which hasn’t been done since 2009.

As for Dallas while they dominated the series this last season they head into this game under different circumstances. A team which I say probably has some of the best talent money can buy and more is just trying to reset their course and not remain at .500 and let another NFC East opportunity slip away.

Both these teams are coming into this rivalry in week 3 under very different circumstances and it seems that this one might just be in the Giants favor this go around. As they say you have to give credit where credit is due and this new Giants ball club has taken a turn around for the better from top to bottom.

The Breakdown

This one is going to come down to good ole fashion gritty defense. The key will be to see which defense can dismantle the offense early and consistently . I expect that Dallas DC’s Dan Quinn will be utilizing Micah Parson ALOT to get to not just QB Daniel Jones but to the limited receiving core that will be on the field tonight for New York. It’s going to be a ball to the wall lights out kind of night.

So knowing this is most likely going to be a defensive showcase the question remains will the Giants big guys upfront be able to give their QB ample opportunity to not get off track and be able to get the ground and pass game going effectively against Dallas?

This is a young but improved o-line that shows great potential. Again, will it be enough against the Cowboys defense tonight at home? The Giants O-Line still has many holes in it that are easy to pick apart so that on top of the fact that Daniel Jones won’t have Toney or Robinson isn’t the ideal circumstances.

But on the other hand the Cowboys o-line isn’t in the ideal spot either and still has a few key boxes unchecked. The saving grace for Dallas tonight is if rising edge rushers Azeez Ojulari and Kayvon Thibodeaux are indeed out for this one tonight. Both are currently listed as questionable.

But you can bet that the Giants man of the moment DC Wink Martindale will find a way to make up with his bliz heavy game plan. If anyone has painted a masterpiece in the Meadowlands it might just be Martindale. His style just has really elevated this Giants defense to become more consistent in putting the pressure on. His creative defensive schemes have also proven to catch his opponents game plan off guard and tonight will be no different at home. I expect it to go into a little over drive against the Cowboys.

The Final Countdown

They say defense wins champions and it’s going to be all about the D tonight in Jersey!

I have to admit I have got a little spoiled in the CFB with more generous lines this season. This is a slim margin that I have gone back and forth with all weekend. The line for tonight at no surprise is on the come down.

Even being a Texan I just think that the value of the Giants is not being really seen for what its worth. It’s going to come down to which team minimizes its mistakes from the jump. I don’t see this being a blowout on either side of the ball, nothing to take away from Cooper Rush or Josh Daniels but like I said earlier just too many boxes still unchecked on the offense where I put faith in either one to leave this one decided by either offense. It’s all about the D baby. I can’t stress it enough!
